Former Senior Partner and Head of Consulting at Ernst & Young in Sri Lanka and the Maldives and former Chairman of the Sri Lanka Personal Data Protection Authority of Sri Lanka Arjuna Herath, has taken on the responsibilities of Chairman of the Board of Investment of Sri Lanka.
He currently holds the position of a Board Member at the Colombo Stock Exchange. He served as a Board Member of the Sri Lanka Accounting and Auditing Standards Monitoring Board and as a Commissioner of the Securities and Exchange Commission of Sri Lanka.
Further, he was the Marketing Development Manager at Ceylon Tobacco Company and Director of Corporate Finance at the Merchant Bank of Sri Lanka.
He is a Senior Chartered Accountant and is a Past President of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka. Herath was actively involved in the international fora in the field of accounting and is a Past President of the South Asian Federation of Accountants and was a Board Member of the Confederation of Asia Pacific Accountants and the Chairman of the Professional Accountancy Organization Development Committee of the International Federation of Accountants.
